Dr. Marvin

“He is a Renaissance Man.” “He has the softest hands, the lightest touch.” “He is a perfectionist.” “If it is good enough for him, then it is good enough for me.” “Dr. Marvin is a tooth whisperer.”

Dr. Marvin is a man of little words of himself, yet these are the words of those that trust him most… his very own patients.

About Dr. Marvin

Dr. Marvin is both a visionary and a precise technician, not only at work but in his personal life. He is what you call, an innovative driver who is passionate about whatever moves him. A natural introvert, he may appear aloof to some; however, he is merely “in thought” and focused on improving whatever he puts his mind to.

If you ask him, “Why did you go into dentistry?” his safe answer would revolve around working with his hands and helping people. Truthly, he wants to make a bigger impact on this world.

His Background

Born in a small town in central Florida and youngest of three children, Marvin was always the “curious kid.” Not the biggest talker, the mini Dr. Marvin literally had his hands in everything, from taking toys apart and then figuring out how to make them better.

His family settled in central Ohio. Born to two hard-working medical doctors, the children grew up fast. They had to, it was the 80s and things were changing rapidly.

Soon after high school graduation, he made the conscious choice to pursue dentistry over his parent’s wish to be a physician.

University

When Marvin chose college, he wanted to be close to home, but not too close. He selected a school in Cleveland, Ohio about 2.5 hours away from home.

At CWRU, Case Western Reserve University, he finished with a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Chemistry. Because of a special program, he was able to count the first year of dental school as his last year in college, making him one of the youngest his dental school class.

Dental School

Back home in Columbus, Ohio, Marvin entered the Ohio State University- College of Dentistry.

Like most dental schools, the curriculum was rigorous and demanding. Every student learns, anatomy, pharmacology, immunology, microbiology, and biochemistry in addition to all the dental courses. Needless to say, it was difficult yet not impossible.
